Shopping tax-free in Italy

Getting a Tax Free Form at the store:
- Spend a minimum of €154.94 on the same day and in the same store
- Request a VAT refund claim and present your passport or travel documents to the cashier during purchase
- You will receive a Tax Free Form
- Inform the cashier that you would like to receive your refund to your utu Tax Free Card number. If the cashier is unable to do this, inform them that you will decide your refund method later and fill in your utu Tax Free Card number manually
- Keep your original sales receipts and Tax Free Forms to validate your claim at the end of your trip
Validating your goods:
- Head to the Customs Office before checking in and going through Immigration
- Present your travel documents and Tax Free Form along with your purchased goods and sales receipts for inspection at the Customs Office
- You will receive a stamp on your form validating the purchases
- The refund operator may ask you to deposit your stamped forms and receipts into a mailbox so they can be processed manually
Receiving your tax refund:
